Children are invited to come along on Sunday 12th December at 10:00am for the Bremhill Children’s History Festival in Bremhill Village Hall. The event is targeted at 6 to 12 year olds.
The event is free, but as tickets are strictly limited please reply by Monday 22nd November to Fiona Jarman fiha80@hotmail.com or Mills Jackson camilla@barakacatering.co.uk with details of the name and ages of the children.
The morning will include a range of exciting activities including:
- hearing “horrible history” tales from the history of the parish
- brewing up some magic potions
- making a clay pot
- decorating a biscuit – in the style of a floor tile!
- making a brass rubbing
- dressing up in historical costumes
- handling local historical finds from the Wiltshire Museum.
We will also be launching a history competition – for a creative response to any aspect of the history of the parish. This could be a short story, a poem, a painting, a photo, a short film/Tik Tok or any other form of creative expression. The deadline for entries is 7th January 2022.
Parents – you might like to follow on the morning’s historical activities by walking the two and a half mile “Bremhill Loop” from the Village Cross to Maud Heath’s Monument, the Dumb Post and back. The trail is available on the Bremhill Parish History Trail app, or from the website Trails Around Bremhill Parish
